Geo Açu

Prumo, the company responsible for the development of the Port of Açu in São João da Barra (RJ), and Geo bio gas&carbon, formed a partnership to install a biogas generation plant in the Port of Açu.

This is Geo's first project aimed at decarbonizing industries that are difficult to reduce emissions. The proposed plant has the capacity to produce 140,000 Nm³/day of biomethane from energy crops (power grass) from a nursery in a degradation area.

The operation at the plant will have advanced fuels as its final product, promoting a green route for these industrial-scale productions.

The project is in the study phase until 2025 and is expected to be operational in 2027.
